On the night of Thursday February 9th, Council Member Julissa Ferreras hosted her first “State Of The District” Address to a crowd of over 150 community resident. She presented the positive strides that the 21st council district has made over the past year. She also announced several major upcoming projects and initiatives, including the redevelopment of Corona Plaza, a complete renovation of the P.S. 127 – East Elmhurst Playground, a 100-day plan for the re-launch of the 82nd Street BID, and the construction of four new schools in the 21st District.
Also in attendance were representatives from School Construction Authority, Department of Education, NY Mets, Economic Development Corporation of New York City, City Of New York Parks & Recreation, Hollaback!, Make The Road New York, Community Board 3, Community Board 4, East Elmhurst Corona Civic Association, Corona CAN, USTA, Queens Economic Development Corporation, Queens Theater, and several Clergy members.
