Part of the performance.

The public is invited to a night of music, dance, drama and discussion in Long Island City on Friday, Nov. 4.
Entitled “How We Are Connected,” the special event will begin with movement artists who combine expressionist dance with acting. Jazz musicians and a Hip Hop artist will then headline a live music segment, followed by a showcase of short skits by professional actors.
The final act will be a panel discussion during which the night•s performers will discuss how the performing arts bridge the gap between cultures.
“How We Are Connected” is organized by the New International Center of Diverse Artists, an organization that unites people of different cultures and ethnicities through performing arts. NICODA gets its inspiration for the „How We Are Connected• program from National Geographic•s The Genographic Project, an ongoing anthropology study that charts human migrations throughout the world.
The festivities will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, 35-12 35th Ave. There is no mandatory admission charge, but a $10 donation is suggested. Information about NICODA may be found at www.nicoda.org. For more information about the event, call 718-717-2874 or go to www.HowWeAreConnected.Eventbrite.com.
