The Colombian Education Fund (ColEF), first of its kind, is proud to announce the second Colombian college informational fair to be host at La Guardia Community College, this Saturday, April 5th, 2014 from 11am to 2pm. We will like the whole Colombian community to take advantage of this amazing event that will provide students and parents with the necessary tools for them to understand the educational system in the United States. This event is FREE and workshops on how to apply and pay for college will be given in Spanish and English. In addition the community will have the opportunity to speak with college representatives and access information about English classes and immigration support.
This event is possible thanks to the collaboration of the City University of New York (CUNY), La Guardia Community College, Colombia Nos Une and the Colombian Consulate in New York. “This year we want to inform the community about their educational options, after this fair, we will be hosting community events in the NYC area to empower them and make sure that every Colombian in NYC has access to quality education and achieve the dream of education attainment” – (John Moreno-Escobar) President of the Colombian Education Fund.
We will have the presence of CUNY Senior Vice Chancellor Jay Hershenson, Colombian Consul General HE. Dr. Elsa Gladys Cifuentes and our guest speaker DREAMER and MPA Candidate Angelica Martinez (Colombian Students at Baruch College/CUNY)
