Resorts World Casino New York City and the Queens Tribune will unveil a photo exhibit honoring the work of Ira Cohen, a Vietnam War veteran and legendary Queens photographer, on Veterans Day, November 11, 2015 at 3:30 PM in the Red Wall Gallery.

Cohen, who passed away in 2014, served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a photographer for the Queens Tribune for years, taking pictures at hundreds of community events across the borough, in which he also called home. Aside from his work as a photographer, Cohen worked as a conductor for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and served as police auxiliary for the New York City Police Department.

“Ira was known for his endless enthusiasm, deep generosity and unerring eye for taking the right picture at the right moment,” said Michelle Stoddart, Director of Public Relations and Community Development at Resorts World. “He had one of the biggest personalities in Queens, and never met a person he couldn’t connect with. We hope that this photo exhibit will give those who did not know Ira the chance to appreciate his beautiful work and those who were fortunate to know him, celebrate his life and art.”

The photo exhibit will remain on display from November 11 to November 22, 2015 in the Red Wall Gallery on the Fifth Avenue level of the casino. For more information on the exhibit, please visit www.rwnewyork.com.
