Dubai announces ‘limited’ resumption of flights
Dubai Airports, the authority that manages the emirate’s air terminals, announced a “limited” resumption of flights on Monday at night, three days after the first connections due to the war in the Middle East were cancelled.
“Duabua Airports announces a limited resumption of flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and World Central Airport – Al Maktoum International (DWC) starting tonight, Monday, March 2, 2026,” he said in a statement. (afp, rtre, ap)

U.S. Chief of Staff: Iran’s Operations “Will Take Time”
The head of the joint U.S. staff, General Dan Caine, said Monday that military operations against Iran are in their initial phase and “will take some time” to reach the targets. He also acknowledged that they will require “hard work” and could cause further casualties among their troops.
“This is not a one-day operation. It will take some time to achieve the goals of the Central Command and the joint force that have been allocated. In some cases it will require difficult and hard work. We hope to take on new losses, but as always we will work to minimize them,” he said at a press conference at the Pentagon. (efe, rtre)
Hamenei’s wife dies after succumbing to injuries
Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, widow of the former supreme leader of the Iranian Islamic revolution, Ali Jemenei, died on Monday (02.03.2026) from injuries sustained in the attack that killed her husband on Saturday, Iranian media announced.
The 79-year-old woman has been in a coma since the attack, the Tasnim news agency said. (afp, rtre)
IAEA lacks signs of attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities
Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), insisted on Monday (02.03.2026) that the institution has no “indications” that any Iranian nuclear facility has been damaged by the U.S. and Israeli attacks.
“As for the state of nuclear facilities in Iran, so far we have no indication that any of the nuclear facilities … has been damaged or reached,” he said.
Earlier, Iran’s ambassador to the IAEA, Reza Najafi, claimed that the Natanz nuclear site had been attacked. (afp, efe)

Israel says it has wiped out Hezbollah’s intelligence chief
The Israeli military said Monday (02.03.2026) that it has killed the head of Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters in this morning’s Beirut attacks.
In a statement, the Israeli military said that “in a precise attack carried out last night in Beirut, the terrorist Hussein Makled, who was serving as head of Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters, was eliminated.”
The Shiite group previously attacked military installations in northern Israel, in what it argued as a response to the assassination of Iran’s top leader, Ali Khamenei, and the continuation of Israeli bombings of Lebanon, despite the 2024 ceasefire.
Israel responded to the action launched this morning by Hezbollah with an intense bombing campaign against southern Lebanon, the eastern Bekaa Valley and the southern suburbs of Beirut known as the Dahye. (ephe, rtre)
A fourth U.S. military officer in operation in Iran dies
The U.S. military announced Monday (02.03.2026) that a fourth military officer from his country was killed in the war against Iran.
Until 11:30 GMT on March 2, “four members of the U.S. military have been killed in combat,” said the U.S. Central Command for the Middle East (Centcom), which on Sunday had reported the deaths of three military personnel.
“The military room, which was seriously injured during Iran’s initial attacks, eventually succumbed to its wounds,” the Centcom wrote on X, without revealing details about the location or identity of the deceased military. (afp, rtre)
QatarEnergy suspends production of liquefied natural gas after Iran attack
Qatar’s state-owned energy company on Monday reported the suspension of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) production following Iranian strikes on facilities at two of its main processing centers.
“Due to military strikes on QatarEnergy’s operational facilities in the Industrial City of Ras Laffan and the Industrial City of Mesaieed in Qatar, QatarEnergy has ceased production of LNG and associated products,” the company said in a statement.

Greece sends frigates and fighters to Cyprus after British-based Iranian drone strike
The Greek government announced on Monday (02.03.2026) that it is sending two war frigates and two F-16 fighters to Cyprus to “contribute in every possible way” to the island’s defense, after last night an Iranian-made drone hit the British Akrotiri base on the Mediterranean island.
“Following unjustified attacks on Cypriot territory, Greece will contribute in every possible way to the defense of Cyprus during the current crisis, in order to address the threats and illegal actions on its territory,” Greece’s defense minister, Nikos Dendias, said on Monday.
Cyprus said its defence systems intercepted two drones heading towards the British military base on Monday.
“Two unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) heading towards British bases in Akrotiri were neutralized in time,” government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis said in the X network.
Cyprus International Airport Evacuated for presence of Unknown Aircraft
The international airport of Paphos, on the west coast of Cyprus, was evacuated on Monday (02.03.2026) after receiving information on the presence of an unmanned aircraft.
Alarms have also sounded at the nearby British base in Akrotiri, where an Iranian-made drone hit last night.
The evacuation was ordered by the Government of Cyprus on suspicion that a drone was heading towards the facility, according to the Cypriot news agency CNA. (afp, efe)
US warplanes were shot down by Kuwaiti “friendly fire”
The U.S. Army Central Command U.S. (Centcom) reported Monday (02.03-2026) that the three U.S. military aircraft that crashed in Kuwait fell “by mistake” or by Kuwaiti “friendly fire”.
“During an active combat — which included attacks by Iranian aircraft, ballistic missiles and drones — the U.S. Air Force fighters were mistakenly shot down by Kuwaiti air defenses,” the Centcom said in a statement.
One killed after sea drone attack on oman in Oman
One person was killed in the wake of a naval drone attack on an oil tanker in front of the capital of Oman that also caused an explosion and fire, the country’s authorities said Monday (02.03.2026), the target of Iranian reprisals in the Gulf.
“The MKD VYOM tanker, with the flag of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, was attacked by an unmanned vessel 52 nautical miles off the coast of the Muscat governorate,” with a cargo of 59,463 tons, the Oman maritime security center said.

Saudi Arabia halts some operations at Ras Tanura refinery
Saudi Arabia’s energy ministry announced that some operations of the massive Gulf-based Ras Tanura refinery were disrupted on Monday (02.03.2026) because an attack sparked a fire at the compound.
The Ras Tanura complex, on the east coast of the kingdom, is home to one of the largest refineries in the Middle East and is a cornerstone of the Saudi energy sector. It has a production capacity of 550,000 barrels per day.
“Some operating units of the refinery were shut down as a precautionary measure, without this having any impact on the supply of oil products to local markets,” an official ministry source said in a statement released by the Saudi press agency SPA.

Iran denounces attack on uranium enrichment plant in Natanz
Iran’s ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Ali Reza Najafi, said Monday that Israel and the U.S. The U.S. has again attacked the enrichment plant in Natanz, in the center of the Islamic country.
Speaking to reporters in Vienna, Austria, the diplomat said that “once again, they attacked yesterday (Sunday) the peaceful and safeguarded nuclear facilities of Iran.”
When asked, Najafi confirmed that it was Natanz. Just minutes earlier, IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi had said he had no indication of further attacks on atomic facilities in Iran. (efe, ap)
France ready to “participate” in defense of Gulf countries and Jordan
France is ready to participate in the defense of the Gulf countries and Jordan, the target of attacks by Iran, its foreign minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, said on Monday (02.03.2026).
In response to the attacks launched on Saturday by Israel and the United States, Iran is launching missiles and drones to numerous countries in the region such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Jordan.
