Pablo Mayor is the director of Folklore Urbano.
The Folklore Urbano Orchestra had an exciting weekend of shows, starting with performances this past Friday for two sold-out audiences of school kids at Flushing Town Hall (Altogether about 600 students from all over Queens), followed by a beautiful evening at the Interchurch Center for Barnard College‘s Salpicon series, and ending with an afternoon performance at Flushing Town Hall for the general public. We were excited to share the stage with our important collaborator, dancer Daniel Fetecua, and his lovely partners.
Mark your calendars for the NEXT performance of the Folklore Urbano Orchestra, Saturday, May 20th, 8pm. We’ve been invited back to DROM after a successful show in February, and the band is sounding better than ever! We hope that you will come out to listen, dance, and support the band as we continue to promote our latest show “El Barrio Project-CARIBE.” Get your tickets ahead:
Also on May 20th, at 11:30am in Tarrytown, NY, Cumbia for Kids is excited to present our interactive show for kids and adults at the David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center, as a part of the exciting day of FREE events for the Pocantico Center’s Community day. Community Tickets HERE
