José Porcel’s Compañía Flamenca—the world renowned Flamenco dance company—returns to the Queensborough Performing Arts Center (QPAC) with their sizzling new program “Flamenco Fire” on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 3:00PM.

José Porcel will lead his dance troupe in a presentation of classical Flamenco as it was danced and performed by the great Flamenco masters, including Antonio Gades and José Greco. The choreography, costumes and music have been faithfully reproduced to ensure an explosion of rhythms, colors and emotions that reflect all the vitality, joy and passion of the Spanish people. Compañia Flamenca was founded in Madrid, Spain, and is among the premier dance troupes that exhibit this exciting art form. In their new program Flamenco Fire this spectacular dance company, accompanied by world class musicians and vocalists, brings the Flamenco tradition to life.

José Porcel began his career in Sevilla, Spain, and has worked with all of the titans of Spanish dance. He was the lead dancer with the renowned Ballet Nacional de España and performed with some of the world’s most acclaimed flamenco dancers, instrumentalists and vocalists. Currently, he and his dance company have showcased flamenco throughout the world, providing an invaluable window into Spain’s rich history.
