Earlier this month, the YMCA of Greater New York’s Long Island City branch, which served over 15,000 community members in 2024, celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special community celebration at Culture Lab LIC.
The event honored Council Member Julie Won, Champlain Hudson Power Express, and Plaxall Inc. for their dedication to supporting initiatives that have united and enriched the lives of Queens residents. Guests enjoyed a performance by the Queensboro Dance Festival, and the program highlighted the YMCA’s long-standing impact in the borough.
The event marked a major milestone for the branch, which has served more than 418,000 people since its founding. From prioritizing swim safety to implementing youth leadership programs, the Y’s LIC branch continues to be a vital resource for families across Queens.
