It took a long time for the brainwashed, ignorant, and in some cases naïve, public in the United States of America to speak up and show some common sense. Good old Joe and Jane finally saw the light and are saying that this is the moment to get rid of Congress – all 535 members of the House and the Senate. Lets give them the proverbial pink slip. You know, as “you are fired”. Let then collect unemployment, but no extensions, especially for those who have opposed the extensions for Joe and Jane in the past.
Polls throughout the nation show an approval rate of only 9%. 91% of the population doesn’t want those dysfunctional idiots in Washington anymore.
They -Senators and Representatives- are a pathetic and sickening bunch. They go from the rabid racist, xenophobic, homophobic, warmongers against women, voting rights, and Affordable Care Act bunch in the extreme right (a.k.a. Tea Party); to the spineless, Tea Party-terrified, bumbling idiots of the erroneously called center of the Republican Party; to the more than three dozen Democrats who have sided in the House with the Republican Party on Obamacare in order to improve their chances of getting reelected to their sweet do-nothing and screw-the-public-jobs next year.
These 39 Democrat opportunists Reps who face tough reelection campaigns next year, are no different than the hardcore members of the Republican Party in Congress. They have the same motto: “Lets get reelected and the public be dammed”.
The Republican Party, also now known as the Obstructionist Party, the No Party, Lets-Kill-Any-Idea-stemming from President Obama Party; Lets Screw Minorities, Poor people, Union People, Students Party; Cut Taxes for the Rich Party; Protect the Banking industry Las Vegas Style Party (if I lose your money I don’t lose but you do, if I win money you don’t) Party, or anything else that goes in favor of the common people Party.
Now we find that, as a result of the Republican Party hatred of President Obama and his agenda, they have made history by becoming the least productive Congress since 1947 when records began to be kept.
Harry Truman called the 1947-48 80th Congress the “do-nothing Congress” because they passed only 906 laws. Compared to the 112 and 113 Congress, the “do nothing Congress of 1947-48 is a Congress on Steroids.
So far this year, Congress has passed only 55 laws, 7 fewer than the 112th Congress for a grand total of 103 laws in two years.
But, these nincompoops in their hatred for Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), have spent inordinate amount of time voting to repeal it.
“ThinkProgress has calculated that the current Republican Conference in the House of Representatives has collectively voted to repeal or defund President Obama’s signature legislative accomplishment 7,386 times.
The House Republicans’ approach to Obamacare continues to typify the current “golden age” of dysfunction in Washington. Since gaining control of the House in 2011, Speaker John Boehner has presided over 40 separate votes that would do everything from fully repealing the law, to prohibiting the IRS from funding it, to delaying pieces of it. The New York Times recently estimated that the House has spent an astonishing 15 percent of all of its time on the floor focused on repeal — a span that amounts to over $17 million of Republican members’ salaries since 2011, based on numbers from the Congressional Research Service.”
But Congress is even worse than that. Not only these inept and hate motivated members of Congress didn’t legislate very much they didn’t go to the office very often either.
In 2012, they only worked 107 days; this year the schedule is set for 126 days and the House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has penciled out 113 days for 2014. What a racket. It is a rich teat they are sucking on. Those juicy dollars that come from it are Joe and Jane tax dollars. House of Representatives members make $174, 000 a year, so this year they are making $1,380 a day.
Meanwhile millions of people on minimum wages have a salary of $58 a day. In other words a do-nothing member of Congress makes almost 25 times more than those millions of people who voted for them. Your time is coming and in 2014 fire them. Raise your voice and vote them out of office.
