US Open Ballperson Tryouts on Monday June 26

IT IS AT THE USTA BILLIE JEAN KING NATIONAL TENNIS CENTERIN IN FLUSHING, N.Y.

WHAT:          

Approximately 80 sought-after positions as ballpersons for the 2017 US Open are up for grabs with approximately 400 people competing for spots. Prospective ballpersons will be evaluated by US Open officials on their running, throwing and catching skills.

WHO:

Ages 14 and older trying out for the coolest summer job in sports.

WHERE:         

USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, Flushing, New York

WHEN:          

Monday, June 26 (rain or shine)

General Public Open Tryouts—3:00 p.m. registration

Participants can register on-site at the National Tennis Center beginning at 3:00 p.m. The evaluation process will begin at approximately 4:00 p.m., after a welcome by US Open Ballperson Director Tina Taps and a veteran ballperson demonstration.

US Open ballpersons are paid an hourly wage.

Ralph Lauren is the official outfitter of the US Open.

The 2017 US Open Qualifying Tournament will be held Tuesday, August 22, through Friday, August 25.  The 2017 US Open main draw will be held Monday, August 28, through Sunday, September 10.
