State Senator Jose Peralta and Woodside on the Move, alongside co-sponsors and community-based organizations, donated more than 700 turkeys to local and faith-based organizations, schools, and senior and daycare centers in time for the Thanksgiving Day celebration. The seventh annual Turkey Drive will provide a meal to families in need. Some of the 10-12 pound turkeys were distributed in the Senator’s office, and the rest will be picked up at various locations throughout the district, including Food Bazaar, Foodtown and Trade Fair supermarkets.

“As we reflect during these times, it is imperative to give thanks and help families who are less fortunate. This event is about giving back to the community, and assisting those who are struggling by providing them with a free turkey that will help them enjoy a decent holiday meal,” said Senator Peralta.

For this year’s drive, Senator Peralta and the collaborating partners donated more than 700 turkeys. “I am proud we can continue to provide turkeys for hard-working and immigrant families, and I am thankful to the local organizations that make this possible year after year,” the Senator said.
