Apple Bank Names Jackie A. Smith Vice President and Forest Hills Branch Manager

Apple Bank for Savings has announced the appointment of Jackie A. Smith as Vice President and Branch Manager at the bank’s Forest Hills, Queens branch office located at 102-35 Queens Boulevard.  Ms. Smith joins Apple Bank from Flushing Bank, where she most recently served as Branch Manager of the Midwood, Brooklyn branch office.

James Matera, Executive Vice President and Head of Apple Bank’s Consumer Banking Division, said, “We are very pleased that Jackie Smith has joined the Apple Bank team in our Queens district. Jackie has an outstanding 21-year track record in the banking industry, having served in senior retail positions with Flushing Bank, Astoria Bank and the Bank of New York.  She brings to Apple a strong commitment to community banking.”

Prior to joining Apple Bank, Ms. Smith was with Flushing Bank as the Branch Manager in their Midwood, Brooklyn branch office. Jackie began working at Flushing Bank in 2007 as Assistant Branch Manager in Midwood and was promoted to Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager in 2013.  Prior to joining Flushing Bank, she was with the Bank of New York as Assistant Branch Manager and Assistant Treasurer in their Ozone Park, Queens branch location.

Jackie began her banking career with Astoria Bank in Valley Stream, Long Island in 1996 as a teller and became a platform banker in 1997. She remained at Astoria’s Valley Stream branch location until she moved to Bank of New York in 2003.

While Ms. Smith was at Flushing Bank in Midwood, Brooklyn, she was a member of the board of directors of the Midwood Development Corporation.  Most recently, she has joined the Forest Hills Chamber of Commerce in Queens.

A native of Jamaica, Ms. Smith came to the United States in 1996.  She earned her B.A. degree from Baruch College in 2002.   She currently resides in Queens with her son.
