Friends of Corona Plaza (QEDC) and The Perna Foundation For Kids in collaboration with more than a dozen community groups, celebrated Hispanic Heritage month in Corona Plaza: Roosevelt Avenue and 103th Street.
The event brought together families who enjoyed an array of free activities, information, and entertainment.
Highlights include – The Perna Foundation provided kids entertainment, free pumpkins and with help from the Target team hosted an arts & crafts area where kids could paint their pumpkins for Halloween. Corona EMS were also on hand to showcase all of their services they offer for the community. Families also enjoyed the free Latin Zumba demo hosted by plaza merchant Mambo Fitness and the community connection zone where you could engage with tables offering a range of free services that included domestic violence awareness, immigration, job development, starting a business, families services and a meet and greet with plaza merchants.
Walgreens was out in the plaza with their free flu clinic which is always welcomed by the community.
They also provided free face painting and balloon making for all the children.
The event ended with a beautiful series of Latin-inspired musical performances in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
