Call for Nominations: 2018 Coors Light Líderes $25,000

Coors Light Winner Will Receive $25,000 Award

The Coors Light Líderes program began its search to find the next up-and-coming Latino leader. The program seeks an emerging Latino leader nominated by a nonprofit institution to receive a $25,000 grant to develop a program that benefits Latinos in his or her community. Emerging Latino leaders can be nominated at www.coorslightlideres.com through April 27, 2018.

Coors Light Líderes encourages people to take on new challenges and opportunities. The more than 160 nominated Latino leaders who have participated in the program continue to make a difference in their communities.

“We are excited to kick off the Coors Light Líderes program. We’ve been recognizing Latino leaders who are inspiring and committed to improving their communities for 12 years,” says Alberto Senior, who leads MillerCoors’ national Latino community efforts. “Coors Light is proud to shine a light on outstanding Latinos working hard to make a positive and lasting impact.”

Based on the nomination criteria, 12 finalists will be selected to participate for the title of 2018 Coors Light Líder of the Year. The 12 finalists (of legal drinking age) will then participate in a public online voting competition through www.coorslightlideres.com. The winner will be announced during Hispanic Heritage Month.

Coors Light Líderes aspires to reach new and unique heights. The program has recognized and promoted Latino leaders who empower their communities since 2006. The projects developed by the winners continue to promote leadership, education, environmental responsibility and business acumen. Coors Light empowers the líderes to go further by providing them the opportunity to enhance their networks and professional growth.

In 2017, Coors Light recognized L. Xavier Cano of Austin, Texas, as Líder of the Year. Cano will use the $25,000 grant to implement a Latino leadership and awareness program in partnership with Prospanica. Hear Cano’s podcast about climbing on and perseverance to achieve dreams.

About Coors Brewing Company

Coors Brewing Company was founded in 1873 by Adolph Coors, who chose the Clear Creek Valley in Golden, Colo., for his new brewery because of the pure water in the nearby Rocky Mountain springs. The brewery’s original and most enduring beer is Coors Banquet (Coors.com, Facebook.com/CoorsBanquet, YouTube.com/OfficialCoorsBanquet), still brewed exclusively in Golden using only Rocky Mountain water and high-country barley. Coors Light (CoorsLight.com, Facebook.com/CoorsLight, @CoorsLight on Twitter, YouTube.com/CoorsLight) was introduced in 1978 and now is the second-best-selling beer in the United States. Triple-filtered smooth Keystone Light (KeystoneLight.com, Facebook.com/KeystoneLight) is one the country’s most popular economy beers. Coors Brewing Company is part of MillerCoors, the U.S. business unit of the Molson Coors Brewing Company.
